The Rennies’ selfless gift will aid in the study and preservation of the desert environment, opening doors for new research and educational opportunities for NSM students.
Everyone who enters McCarthy Hall’s second floor from the terrace takes a subtle but beautiful journey across Southern California’s ocean, desert, and mountain ecosystems.
Jordan Ruggieri is a regional marketing manager for biotechnology company Thermo Fisher Scientific – a career that allows him to use his NSM education in unexpected ways.
Outstanding undergraduate and graduate students were recognized with scholarships and awards from the college, individual departments, research scholars programs, and health professions organizations.
He’s particularly excited to contribute to NSM and ECS successes, noting, “STEM is a fantastic path that has a tangible impact on the world. It opens doors to opportunities that haven’t even been thought of yet.”
“One of the greatest parts of my job is that I now have a whole community of former students who valued their experiences and want to give back to current students,” William “Bill” Hoese says.
The fundraising success represents what the community stands for and will benefit students’ education and experiences.
